When was the last time you felt inner stillness? That moment of complete clarity, all thoughts removed, body relaxed, mind is calm. Do you make time for those moments within your day? From the moment we awake, our minds become overloaded with thoughts – brush teeth, shower, get ready, commute to work, and once we are at work our minds are completely taken over by autopilot for 8 hours. Then we commute home, make/eat dinner, watch TV and go to bed. This cycle repeats week after week.
Do you pause at any time to reflect on how you are feeling, or how your body feels? Our bodies do so much for us, and make us capable of extraordinary things. We need to allow time to really appreciate ourself and our body. Even if just for a brief moment within your day, sit with it and just be present. Realise that you are living your life through this magnificent mechanism. Without these bodies life would be pointless. We would be unable to explore the wonders of earth, unable to help others, unable to hug and to hold.. let’s appreciate this shell that we are equipped with.
So try to remember every now and then, and thank your body for allowing you to express yourself through it. In this process, we start to gradually become aware of our more subtle sensations within the body, becoming more attuned to it’s needs.
It’s vital that we look after these bodies, as they look after us. Every cell in our body works tirelessly to keep us functioning optimally. If we allow toxicity to enter the body, our cells will struggle to keep us in prime condition, causing a hindrance to our immune system.
So this is your reminder, to look after your body, which will in turn look after you.
